Welcome to Everyday Knowing Reminders, a Sunday message. Why a Sunday message? Everyday Life Paths believes that deep within, all answers are available. However, sometimes it is helpful to have reminders to open our hearts and minds to a new sense of awareness within ourselves. Thus, the weekly messages are simply reminders upon which to meditate in order to find one’s own answers. Topics will be presented to offer my metaphysical perceptions of life. If you have a topic you would like me to address, please email requests to

In Peace,
Rev. Rosanne
Loving LifeWhile I am not known to watch much TV, my family and I did watch the “Hope for Haiti” telethon. I wanted to have my seven year old son understand how some people may not be as fortunate as we are, and to see how humanity comes together to help each other. When I create a learning opportunity, I always find it amazing the lessons I receive in the process. I think I am doing something for someone else, and a lesson is always revealed for me.
During the telethon, the images made an impact on us all as we experienced the significant loss and the tears of sorrow. At the same time, as we watched individuals being pulled from the rubble, time and time again they showed the human spirit as they sang praising God, or smiling in gratitude. One woman in particular, upon her rescue said, “do not fear death.”
“Do not fear death”… Those four words rang through my head all night. As I meditated on those words, I ask my Inner Knowing, what does this mean? I went to sleep with this question. Did I awake with all the answers? No, I forgot about it by the next morning. Then later that morning, after yoga, exercise, and breakfast, I heard the woman’s voice again, “do not fear death.” What came to my mind is: Do not fear death, when we can experience joy through
Loving Life right here and now.
What if we were to take the risks, take the chances that come along our path? What if we were to proactively take the next step on our dream life? What if we were to live the life we have imagined for ourselves? If we live life loving each minute, would we fear death? Probably not. Death is fearful when we feel we still have more to do. Could it be that the woman in Haiti was referring to life as Buddha said, “Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely.” If we are actively engaged in our vision, then death does not enter our consciousness and we can accept it as part of life when it does come.
So as we proceed down our path, how do we experience loving life? There are three steps which take us from fear to freedom. The first step is to connect with our Inner Knowing and create our personal vision. When we understand the unity between ourselves and the One Presence, we relax in knowing we are not alone. When the pressure is on to achieve or be; we take a step back knowing all is exactly as it needs to be or else it would not be that way. Through meditation we can move toward our vision. By spending time where we connect to our Inner Knowing, questions are asked and if we are listening, answers are received.
Second step is to take action toward our vision. Do something, in the present, to move you closer to that vision. Through taking a step forward we receive feedback through many avenues to determine if we are proceeding down a Loving path. If we stay exactly where we are, however, we will not know if, how or where we are to use our talents.
The third step is to turn around and be in the flow of life. We can decide to swim upstream like a salmon and we may realize our vision, yet it is going to take a lot of hard work. On the other hand, if we release our resistance to the flow of Life and let it pull us gently along, maybe hitting a rapid now and then, life becomes more joyful. As we experience a rapid, we know as the Tao Te Ching tells us, there is nothing right or wrong, it “just is.” With this realization we relax knowing what we are experiencing “just is” and unless we fight against the rapid, will bring us back to the flowing waters shortly as Life unfolds in its own time and way. As we greet life with willingness and allow it to unfold, we release any need to control, thus opening the opportunity to live in a space of Love.
Now, I am not saying that we will love life only when we have reached our vision. Loving Life is the continual process of being in the flow. When we create a vision, sometimes we need to adjust the vision as we grow. Other times a new vision is needed. Once a vision has manifested, we begin the process again with a new one. God did not say “let there be light” and then stop. The One Presence continued creating and continues today through each and every living creature.
So instead of not fearing death, we will experience Loving Life. Through mediation/vision, action and flow, we experience Life as ever changing, always creating development of our existence. As we grow and become more aware of our eternal contact with our Inner Knowing, we become co-creators with the Divine and together begin the experience of Loving Life!
